The English & Western Program is where horsemanship, sportsmanship, and community come together. Riders of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate in rail and pattern classes that highlight both the rider’s skill and the horse’s training. Whether you ride English, Western, or enjoy crossing over between the two, Region 18 offers a supportive environment to learn, grow, and compete.
We are currently working on a fall schooling show, please be patient with us!
Our program is active throughout Shasta, Trinity, Lassen, Siskiyou, and Modoc counties, with opportunities for riders to showcase their talents and build confidence.
Classes may include:
Showmanship – Horse handling and presentation on the ground.
Equitation / Horsemanship – Judging the rider’s form, control, and effectiveness.
Pleasure – Emphasizing the horse’s manners and way of going.
Trail – Demonstrating the partnership needed to navigate obstacles.
Additional pattern or specialty classes, depending on the show.
Friendly, supportive shows perfect for new riders and seasoned competitors alike.
A variety of classes to highlight the unique talents of both horse and rider.
Year-end recognition and the chance to compete at the state level.
A strong community of horse enthusiasts who share your passion.
Our Chair is here to support riders, answer questions, and help the program grow across our five counties.
